The successful candidate for Lake Havasu City's next Public Works Director is experienced in the administration of roads, water, sewer, and stormwater management. fleet maintenance, facilities maintenance, airport operations, and other areas in Public Works, in addition to budget creation and management, human resources practices, and employee development.

The hiring range for this position ls $4,807.92 - 5,710.30/biweekly. DOQ. The salary for the successful candidate will be negotiated within the stated hiring range based upon experience and qualifications.

General Definition of Work

Performs complex executive work planning, organizing, and directing all public works programs and administrative department operations, preparing and administering the department budgets, maintaining official files and records, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work involves setting policies and goals under the direction of the City Manager. Departmental supervision is exercised over all personnel within the department.

The successful candidate holds a bachelor's degree with coursework in construction, civil engineering, public administration, or a related field and extensive progressively responsible administrative and supervisory. experience in public works or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree is preferred.
